conundrum

I’m a reporter currently working as a copyeditor. Why? I couldn’t get a job as a reporter because I lacked experience at a daily. Hence why I am here — stuck in upstate New York designing and editing news pages. I blog because I live to write and no one will pay me for it…I had no choice but to take matters into my own hands. In college, I became so involved with writing news, I neglected all other aspects of life. I thought I was preparing myself for the future; the future had other plans. I am now trying to get my pen and paper to be lovers again — yes I do write outside of my blog, though not nearly enough.

I love long dashes, hate exclamation points and commas elicit no emotional reaction. I don’t like rules, I think diagraming sentences is scary but I am in love with AP Style.

I love life and try to live it whenever I have time.

UPDATE: I have left journalism. I’m over the corporate elite pushing certain views upon the masses. And I can’t stomach watching the masses soak up whatever is given to them. I plan to begin working toward a Masters in Public Administration next fall and I hope to work in the non-profit sector upon graduating. Helping others will be great! Finally, making a difference — It’s the only way to live a satisfying life. Until then, I’m working and hope to begin some serious volunteer work shortly.
